Making My New Palette

My old studio tray was 18" x 3' and the new "Pastel Crib" measures 2' x 4.'
Lots more space, and room to expand my palette to include the grays and also a nifty pencil box in the middle.

More photos soon!

Very impressive. After seeing what you used to keep your pastels, I shopped for one. I thought it was an essential. I didn't find one; now I know why. Do you separate the softs from the hards and mediums in any way? That seems to be something to consider. Right now, I can tell by the shapes, but my supplies are for beginners. One does need such a box to travel and the lid has to close tight for vertical carriage. I've been thinking.

Linda - they aren't hard to make, and I know there isn't anything big and rectangular on the market. My peeps on Facebook asked me to market them, and I do have a woodworker who is going to make some. 3 sizes.

Let me know if you want one.

My hard pastels go in those three drawer boxes you can buy at any art store.

WOW! Great box...lots of love went into making that.
I actually made something similar out of very thick cardboard and foamcore, since I don't have any woodworking skills. It's nice to have an orgaonized palette. :)
