I love this one also. The mauves and blue greys with ochres. Wonderful colors. I admire your color "sense". It is something I am always learning.

Thank you very much, Debora.

"Good fences make good neighbors." I know yours don't live close by, but they must be great ones.

Sam:

Yeah, my hood has good neighbors. But, I see more hawks, owls, coyotes and deer per week than I see peoples.

This remnant fence is next to the barn, and has a ramp for loading animals on the truck. Our farm is all in surplus now.

I can get too casual. Assuming it is possible to overdo that good thing, I'd like to reaffirm how much I truly admire your pastel paintings. I of course appreciate all of your generous posts and essays about other artists and their work (okay--specifically Matisse and WK), but I also learn a lot from your own virtuosity.

Now, don't let it go to your talented head. ;0)

I appreciate the comment, Sam, and your faithful reading, too.

I need the kudos, especially on days when the art doesn't work out. Except that today was one of those days when it did. Whoop!

The big head is a deadly thing. Like Andrew Wyeth said: when you get a critique, that is a bad thing. When you get a compliment, that is also a bad thing.

Too bad I'm not Andrew Wyeth...

Beautiful colors, like a soft light coming through stained glass -- makes the heart flutter!

I got my rock climbing terms mixed up with my painting terms. Oops @-))

Thanks, Jala!
