This reminds me of many hikes I've been on in forests throughout the country (and including here near Durango) with the large boulder still life. Glacial erratics, exposed bedrock, or crumbles from an adjacent cliff...it's all interesting.

So, of course, I like this a lot :).

What a great painting, Casey! Any plans to go bigger with it? Of course your colors are gorgeous but what I really notice is how you kept the lines of the trees subdued and broken so they stay in the background. Good lesson! Thanks!

Thank you, Donna! The main reason I might go bigger would be that I haven't "said everything" yet. There is one more great thing I liked, and so I think I will explore it - I appreciate your looking at it!
