  1. What a gem of a painting, Casey. It certainly looks much bigger than its actual dimensions.

This painting makes me want to work in small sizes like this and try to distill design elements down even further (something I constantly struggle with). Thanks for the inspiration!

  2. I find it fascinating that the size of a pastel painting matters most to the artist, not to the viewer, for whom an image is an image. Pastels, especially, seem to reveal themselves best in their own microcosm.

  3. I notice the same effect with Sonya's very fine oils of the four corners area. They appear bigger on screen than in person n- but the details are best in person.

This caused me to look at the size of the image on my CRT (Toshiba Laptop) and I didn't like that it is bigger than the actual image. I'm going to change the post size.

  4. There, I took it down from the "large" to the "medium" template size, and I changed the size reported to reflect the height first, which I normally do.

  5. This does read as much larger than it is and it sure is a gem of a painting Casey! love it, love the light in it, everything.

  6. Beautiful sun-soaked feeling to this one Casey. It is like a little gem but would have quite an impact as well, I think, as a larger pastel.

  7. Thank you, Sara and Brian. I can visualize it bigger, and I think many things would change.

  9. Deliciously irradiated. Like a Monet haystack taken up several notches.
