The first two are on sight paintings, and the last is a memory painting. My apologies for the photography, which is my own. I will post better ones when available. But, I wanted you to see the latest things, especially very recent plein air paintings.
These are fantastic, Casey! I especially love the last two. Those violets and blues just make the paintings sing!

Thanks, Debora. The last one is less gray - more true colors, but that's the way it photographed. It is based on the woods around Hoquiam, WA.

ReplyDeleteremnant fence: I'm there, or I want to be there...lovely. Am intriguied by idea of limited pastel palatte while plein air...same always? switch around? criteria for selection? do tell.

ReplyDeleteI knew where I was going, and knew I had room for @3 more sticks so I added a violet and two grays, I think. There is a small vine charcoal in there, and I take a Thumbox/Judson's. I stuck two pieces of La Carte sanded card in the lid, with a little foam core to hold them. And a sketchbook and a pencil. Very light kit.

ReplyDeleteDeep, dark woods with filtered sunlight, wet ground below and a wild bush. Violet and gray, with ultramarine (browns acting like neutrals).
